This Agreement applies to all students enrolling in Japanese language lessons through Japanese Canada, operated by Japanese Australia (head office in Melbourne, Australia).

1. Agreement Overview

By enrolling in lessons with Japanese Canada, you agree to the terms outlined in this Agreement. Japanese Canada operates as an online language learning platform managed by Japanese Australia. All lessons are delivered by independent teachers.

2. Lesson Location & Time

2a. Location

All lessons are conducted online.

2b. Class Time

All lessons are scheduled based on Melbourne time (AEST/AEDT). However, lesson times may be adjusted if mutually agreed between: the Student, and the Teacher and/or Administration In such cases, the agreed lesson time will be applied accordingly. Students remain responsible for: Checking their local time Adjusting for any time differences, including Daylight Saving Time.

3. Description of Services

Japanese Canada is an online Japanese language school operated by Japanese Australia, based in Melbourne. We provide: 1)structured lesson scheduling and support. 2) access to online learning materials. 3) secure payment processing via Stripe. 4) Our goal is to make learning Japanese simple, flexible, and enjoyable—wherever you are.

3a. Teacher Services

All lessons are delivered by experienced and qualified Japanese teachers. While Japanese Canada manages scheduling and student support, each teacher brings their own teaching style and expertise to the lesson.

4. Payment

All fees must be paid in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Payments are processed securely via Stripe (online credit card payment system). We reserve the right to pause or terminate lessons if fees are not up to date.

4a. Monthly fees

Monthly lesson fees must be paid in full prior to the commencement of lessons. Payment is made via Stripe (online credit card payment) . Failure to complete payment may result in lessons being paused until payment is received.

4b. Single lesson fee

Payment of all fees for single lessons must be made at the time of booking the single lesson. This payment can be made by direct debit or online credit card via Stripe.

5. Enrolment

If the Student has purchased a lesson, their enrolment commences on the day of the month agreed by both parties; provided that:

a) the Student has returned a completed Enrolment Agreement Form or provided their contact details; and
b) Japanese Canada has received the payment in full.

6. Rescheduling

To maintain a fair and manageable schedule for both students and teachers, the following policy applies:

Private Lessons:

1, A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to reschedule a lesson. Rescheduling requests can be made either: Directly with your teacher during a lesson, or by contacting the administration team. Lessons with more than 7 days’ notice that are not rescheduled will be carried over as a credit and applied as a Lesson Pass on the next invoice 2. For requests made with less than 7 days’ notice: the lesson will be considered used (non-refundable) → a new booking will be required if you wish to take another lesson.

Group Lessons:

Group lessons are not reschedulable. Catch-up lessons may be arranged for an additional fee of CAD $40 per session

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Fees are: non-refundable, except where required by law or where a lesson is cancelled by the school. Where a refund is approved, a processing fee of CAD $22 will be deducted. All refunds will be processed in accordance with this Agreement and applicable policies.

7.1 Student Cancellation

-7+ days’ notice → eligible for reschedule or refund -Less than 7 days / no-show → lesson is forfeited (non-refundable)

7.2 School Cancellation

-If a lesson is cancelled by the school: A make-up lesson will be arranged, or Credit will be provided

8. Teacher Assignment

Teachers may be changed when necessary

9. Nature of Services

Japanese Canada (operated by Japanese Australia): Provides the platform and lesson coordination. Does not directly deliver teaching services. All lessons are provided by independent teachers.

10. Student Responsibilities

Students agree to: Attend lessons on time. Use the correct lesson link provided in reminders. Follow all policies and instructions.

11. Privacy

Personal information is collected and used only for: 1, Enrolment 2, Lesson management 3, Communication

12. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials remain the property of Japanese Australia. Reproduction or distribution without permission is prohibited.

13. Ongoing Enrolment

Enrolment continues automatically unless cancelled. The same terms apply to future months

14. Changes to Terms

Japanese Australia reserves the right to update this Agreement. Students will be notified at least 30 days in advance.

15. Termination

Japanese Australia may terminate enrolment without notice in cases of: Inappropriate behaviour. Disruptive or unsafe conduct

16. Governing Entity

Japanese Canada is operated by: Japanese Australia
